Evelyn S. Mathis
Evelyn S. Mathis, Senior Staff Associate, has 35 years of professional experience planning, implementing, analyzing, and disseminating the results of national statistical studies in health care. Ms. Mathis has developed and operated four national health care surveys, managed large budgets, and supervised multidisciplinary staff personnel. She currently supports the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality under two Task Order contracts, including (1) developing an inventory of health care data collection initiatives to inform practitioners, policymakers, and the public; and (2) creating a national framework for quality measurement. Her prior experience includes 23 years as a manager in Federal Government agencies, where she directed research projects in long-term care, health manpower, ambulatory care usage, and family planning. As a researcher and analyst, Ms. Mathis has authored publications on nursing homes, composed monthly reports on mental health issues, and presented papers at national conferences. Ms. Mathis received a B.S. in Mathematics from South Carolina State University and has completed graduate courses in Statistics, Epidemiology, and Health Care Administration.
