Assessing the Impacts of a Medical Student-American Indian Youth Joint Learning Program

Sundance Research Institute is providing evaluation support to ASNIYA (“health” in the Dakota language), a non-profit organization that recruits first-year and third-year medical students to interact with American Indian middle-school and high school students around science topics and introduction to health careers. The objectives of ASNIYA are to provide opportunities for medical students to learn about the health challenges and disparities of American Indians and to experience American Indian culture, as well as to increase interest in science and health careers among American Indian youth.
